Imagine this: you are robbed or you lose a valuable item, but at that moment you have not even realised it yet. Even so, the GLOBALBACK system is already working for you! Because your property is registered in the Cloud via its identification numbers, ANY potential buyer running a check on our portals can immediately see that this item is registered. A thief or dishonest finder therefore cannot simply sell your property unnoticed as their own – the preventive proof already exists, before you were even able to set the status to “Stolen” or “Lost” yourself!

Make use of the GLOBALBACK Cloud – ideally right from the start. The best moment to register is straight after the purchase, while the receipt, the serial number and all the paperwork are still in front of you. Once registered, the Cloud can be of great use to you in many situations:
From the moment you register, your property is clearly identifiable as LOST or STOLEN – or you use the status to show whether you want to sell it (FOR SALE) or not (NOT FOR SALE). If an item that is registered as NOT FOR SALE is offered for sale, that contradiction should make any buyer sit up and take notice.
To make it harder for thieves and dishonest finders to sell your property, we run several national and international check portals – ebike-check.online, seriennummern-check.de, checkmich.online and checkme.website – where anyone can find out more before buying.
If something is lost and you have to provide details – to the police or to your insurer, for example – you have round-the-clock access to your data, wherever in the world you happen to be (provided you have internet access). Because let us be honest: who knows the serial number and IMEI of their smartphone by heart?
Is the device still under warranty when it breaks? Thanks to your registration you can answer questions like that quickly and easily – with no searching and no leafing through folders.
By the way: these four points are only examples. You can register one single item – and only with the status “LOST” or “STOLEN”.
That way, anyone can file a loss or theft report if the worst happens.
Your access works through your email address alone – you do not need a password:
This may seem unusual at first, but it serves the security of your data: you do not have to remember complicated passwords that you will forget sooner or later anyway. Your email inbox is your key. (When signing in, please also check your spam folder in case the email does not land in your inbox straight away.)
As a guest too – that is, without a registered GBID – you sign in via the same link, Customer Login.
After logging in you arrive at the dashboard, the control centre of the GLOBALBACK Cloud. Here you have full control over your inventory: you create new entries and can edit, print (for your insurer, for example), delete or transfer existing entries to other users at any time – when you sell something, for instance.
And should you no longer want to be registered at some point: you can also delete your entire account here yourself, quite easily.
Back to topEvery item is necessarily given a status when it is registered. The reason is simple: thieves try to sell their loot as quickly as possible. Through our connected check portals – ebike-check.online, seriennummern-check.de, checkmich.online and checkme.website – every potential buyer has the opportunity to check the identification numbers before buying. You can change the status in your dashboard at any time – from NOT FOR SALE to FOR SALE, for example, if you do decide to part with something after all.
When you register an item as “FOR SALE”, it appears green in your private dashboard. In our public portals, however, this status appears highlighted in yellow when someone runs a search, together with a warning:

This is how we deliberately make it harder for stolen or misappropriated found items to be registered with us as simply “for sale” by offenders in order to deceive buyers acting in good faith.
Important to know: this service is intended as an aid to your buying decision. The entries come from the respective users – we cannot guarantee that they are correct.
Each time you register something new, you choose between three categories:
The category for (almost) everything: this covers every item that can be registered via an identification number – from a camera and a notebook to a chainsaw.
Recording an e-bike by its frame number alone is no longer up to date – because a modern e-bike also includes a display, a battery and a motor. Stolen bikes are also often dismantled, since individual parts such as the battery alone are worth several hundred euros. Instead of entering each part separately under “Other item”, you record everything together under “E-bike”, yet still cleanly separated. Particularly practical when selling: you transfer the complete e-bike in a single operation instead of four separate ones.
Besides their serial number, mobile phones and smartphones can also be identified by their IMEI – some devices even have two IMEIs. That is why you register your device here with its serial number and IMEI(s) together, as a single item.
Say you are selling your e-bike – and the buyer also holds a GBID registered with GLOBALBACK? Then the transfer is done in just a few clicks:
Your privacy matters to us here: only the neutral basic data is transferred (identification numbers, manufacturer, model/type). Your personal details – purchase price, date of purchase, seller and your notes – are not passed on. They remain private.
As soon as the buyer has accepted the transfer, you receive written confirmation by email – and the entry disappears from your dashboard.
Back to topImagine someone finds your very expensive camera. Even with people who are basically honest, the temptation in a personal financial emergency can be great to simply sell the find.
These days such a sale is easily possible via classified ads – except if your camera is registered with GLOBALBACK and set to “LOST”. The risk for the dishonest finder of being caught via the serial number when selling then rises enormously. Our aim is that precisely this knowledge moves the finder to return the camera directly to you, the rightful owner, instead – because the legal finder’s reward is ultimately the far safer alternative. And who knows: perhaps the increased risk will turn a dishonest finder into an honest one after all.
